About Me
My name is Keng (he/him), and I am a Hmong American poet and creative storyteller based in Minnesota. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in Spring 2024 with a …

Bachelor of Individualized Studies in Asian American studies, creative writing, and leadership
Minor in racial Justice in urban schooling

My artistic work focuses on creating tools and spaces for the amplification of Southeast Asian voices through poetry, theater, and film. Many of my works draw from my intersection of identities as a Hmong American. I remember first writing poems to capture the oral nature of Hmong song poetry, also known as kwv txhiaj (or lug txaj). Ever since, I have continued engaging in different artistic mediums, including spoken word poetry, theater, and film. I am interested in Hmong folklore, community stories, popular media, experimental films, and queer poetry. As an artist and educator, I lead with curiosity and hope to increase representation and visibility for Asian American artists, especially Southeast Asians in Minnesota.
I am always happy to connect and support new work so please reach out with any inquiries!
